Mudita: The Importance of Balancing Compassion with Appreciation and Joy

July 20, 2020. I have come to believe that the states of generosity, compassion, lovingkindness, appreciation, forgiveness, and equanimity (balance) are natural by-products of the meditative path.
I’ve also come to see the real importance of cultivating these qualities, of putting energy into a systematic and intentional cultivation of these heart/mind-states. Why wait until they arise spontaneously if some intentional uncovering can allow access to freedom more quickly?
